Near East University (NEU) in Nicosia, the capital of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, founded in 1988, is one of the major and most highly regarded educational institutions of the Asian and European region. The Near East University is a full member of the European University Association (EUA), of the International Association of Universities (IAU) within the body of UNESCO, IGIP and Joint Commission International (JCI), the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World (FUIW) and Higher Education Commission (HEC).
